B&M Monday

...anyone?

Summer School starts for me today.  Oh Boy, what fun!  Thankfully I will have my MBA in December because I can't stand it another year.

I'm having a hard time finding a part time job.  It seems no one wants to hire a teacher that only needs the job for a couple of months.  Plus I'm talking classes on Tuesday and Thursday.  We really need the extra money and I don't even mind waiting tables.

I am frustrated about not finding a job as well.  And because my family is just acting crazy.  I don't know why we can't just have a simple birthday party that doesn't turn into a huge fight between everyone!

My only B&M is the same thing I have been B&M-ing about since March.  I have a test next month.  I have been studying since March 1.  I am tired of studying and I am beyond stressed out.  I am finally on the last section of pre-study material - Estate planning.  I have a four day review course starting June 18th.  I am so nervous and stressed - it is unhealthy.  I wish it were over and wish I had more time all in the same breath.  Ugh.

Elizabeth - what about retail?  Have you tried any of the malls?  Banana, Ann Taylor, etc?

Elizabeth - I used to work at Kohl's in college and they paid pretty decently.  It was HARD work though.   Also, I have no earthly idea what they pay, but Papa Murphy's pizza constantly has a now hiring sign on their window when I go and I think that would be super fun. It is like subway for pizza, not delivery or cooking or anything like that.

Chase Bank has been hiring--I've seen signs at a lot of their branches, especially in the FLower Mound/Lewisville area

I need to send out invitations next week, my fiance has neither a complete list of who he wants to invite or addresses!!  I've only been asking since January...

I also interviewed for a new job a month ago... the HR person says she keeps waiting on the hiring Director for information on next steps before she can get back to me... the Director is a former boss who is trying to recruit me!!!!  Get on the ball guy!

whew, I feel much better.  Thanks!  :)

Well I was thinking of doing Chelsea's Boudoir shoot in October for Ben's anniversary present but I wanted to sleep on it and now it's all booked.  Boo.  I was really hoping to use it as motivation to lose weight--there is no bigger motivation than the thought of someone taking pictures of you in your underwear.

My little brother's graduation ceremony and party was Saturday. He had a great time and he's so adorable! I am so proud of him.

But ugh! my family (grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles) pisses me off. They are all about me me me! Kevin, my little brother, never wants attention on himself. But this was his weekend, his big day and they just wouldn't let him have it. They were all so ridiculous with not disciplining thier children when they were eating cheetos and pb&j's on my parents white carpet in their brand new house. And, sad to say, I think my grandma is losing it. She was being so ridiculous all weekend. Brad and I were so fed up with it, we left a few hours earlier than planned yesterday. I just don't understand why they couldn't let it be Kevin's day and not cause drama.

Ok, I'm done. Thanks for listening!

I wish I had time in the day to deal with co-worker drama... I just don't... and I don't have the energy for it.  Please, keep the drama in your area, don't let it spill on my desk.  UGH.  It's Monday people.

Bsn, yes it sure is Monday. I went off on a supervisor this morning about a fellow admin. She works in a department that I highly rely on (as does my whole group) and when I went over there to get work that should be done, she was playing on Farmville and the work wasn't done. After I was done ranting I took a deep breath and said "Thanks for listening" and walked out. Today just ain't my day, people.

Since my mom is incapacitated for a while, it has fallen on me to try to get in touch with her HR dept., disability, etc.  They have been so unhelpful--you have to have an employee ID number to even talk to one part of this organization and they refuse to talk to you without it.  I can't even call in on the phone system they have set up because you also have to know a PIN number.  What part of my mom cannot do this do they not understand?!?!?!?!?!  I actually shouted at this guy a week ago that I guess I was f'ed because I didn't know that number and hung up on him.  Why do HR departments act like they're better than you and that you are lucky that descended from the Mount just to answer your phone call?  Hello, your company workers are the HUMAN part of HUMAN RESOURCES.  Whew, I feel better.

I've also decided just to suck it up and take my huge suitcase for my Europe trip.  Bill keeps trying to push his tiny 21 inch one on me.  There's no way unless I spend money once I get over there and buy all my toiletries.  I don't really want to carry it but I don't really want to have to buy a new suitcase.

Talia I don't see it yet.  I'll keep checking.

Tiffany I went ahead and emailed her so we'll see.  She may open up a few more spots so she's keeping my name in the mix just in case.

Oh - another B&M (am I allowed to have 2?).  We didn't send an STD to one of FI's cousins (at his request, I honestly had nothing to do with it - I just sent them to everyone on the list his mom gave me).  Well, we apparently sent one to her parents and her brother (he's a GM), just not to her.  And apparently she's throwing a huge fit about it - so now his family is saying that none of them are coming.  Fi doesn't seem to care - except hello - her brother is one of our GMs!  Oh the drama!!

I forgot my password and couldn't get it sent to me because I signed up with my work email, so I had to create a new account. Boo.

David and I got de-friended on Facebook by his sister.  Now I can finally speak my mind in my status updates instead of having to keep my mouth shut so that I don't offend her.  At least we both truly know what type of person she is now.

marissa, i broke my wrist before my cousin's wedding where i was a bridesmaid - i got light blue to match the electric blue dresses!!! lmao!

my b&m: i finally spoke with my future monster-in-law on saturday .... conversation did NOT go well. she basically said some more mean things and would not take ANY responsiblity for her actions and "doesn't know what i'm talking about!" she also called me a liar by saying that i didn't say something i did actually say!!! AND, says that my FI is only on my side because of my "crying and carrying on"! Give me a freakin' break! am i not allowed to cry when someone i respect is yelling at me and verbally attacking me!!??? i'm at a loss for words. my FI is upset as well at her.
the best part: they might be coming this weekend to visit for my FI's company picnic! :(
i'm just sick over the whole thing. i really believed that our relationship in regards to our families was something out of a fairy tale... i was sadly mistaken!

ewinkler- I've waited tables part time to supplement my income a few times.  When you go in, I'd tell them you're interested in however many shifts now, but would like to drop down to 2 shifts in August.  I wouldn't tell them you want to leave completely.  They are weary about fully training someone who is not going to stick around.  Then if you need to after that, drop down to one, then only emergencies, etc.  Once they see you have a strong work ethic, then they'll be happy to work with you at most restaurants.   It helps to be on payroll somewhere, even if you don't work very often.  Then you can always pick up as needed.  That's what I did (before they closed the place).

So FI got online today to check on something for the tuxes, and they had ordered everyone BLACK shirts???  The guy got out the original order and said, "Huh.  Yep.  this clearly says white shirts.  I'll have to call and reorder for you."  They say everything will be in Thursday still- and correct.  Hope so!

sparkling diamond... did I see that you were spotlight Knottie last week (or something)??  Congrats!!

Lacy, I've been having wedding nightmares for a year. They always involve it being the wedding day and stuff not being done.

Marlene--I laughed when I saw the picture of you and your "little" brother--my little brother is bigger than me too

Amber-  How funny about the tuxes!  A similar thing happened to ours...my dad went to get measured and they had him down for a teal tie (was supposed to be black).  If my Mom hadn't been there and known that was wrong my Dad probably would have showed up in teal not knowing any better!

I have asked for input for gosh knows how long with no response from you and now, on the first day of classes, you decide to give it to me?  A little late but luckily the other department understood.  You are driving me crazy.  Hopefully you are only here 2 days a week.

Amberspro - Thanks for the advice.  Yeah I wanted to be honest with them but I guess I will have to hold back that I'm really only looking for a summer job.

Serlace - Thanks for the suggestions as well.I have done retail but its also hard because the highschoolers are grabbing all of those jobs.

Jay&Marissa - I live in East Dallas close to White Rock and not sure I want to fight traffic and spend most of what I'm making on gas.  Althougth I do appreciate the suggestion

Tiffany618 - I never thought of pizza places, do they pay well. Yeah I should look into Kohl's as well.

    I'm bored.

bridget--All that drama sounds awful. Sorry you have to deal with that. I don't know what I would do if my MIL treated me that way. I'm glad your FI is standing by you though. It would make it so much worse if he defended her actions.
