I can't decide on what to do/get as my wedding favors! I want something different, creative, something my guest will use and at the same time is affordable! I want my guest to be like OMG I've never seen this before lol! Any ideas????
Stephanie, I think you're on the right track by wanting someting that your guests will use. Guests seem to appreciate it more, and you don't have to worry about it ending up in the drawer somewhere or worse--left behind. Not sure of the theme of your wedding, but you can always give people coasters. They're practical, come in all sorts of designs and don't cost a whole lot. You might also consider a bottle opener or bottle stopper. But, something I saw on this wedding favor site was really cute. They had some stemless wine glasses that can be personalized. Here's the link http://www.myweddingfavors.com/stemless-wine-glass.html . Come to think of it, they'd be a great place to get some ideas. Look around a bit and best of luck to you.
There is no such thing as a unique favor, it's all been done before! LOL I would go with some sort of edible favor, no offense to the PP but coasters and personalized wine glasses aren't really useful to a whole lot of people. Most people want to have matching sets, not just random items with other people's information on it.
Stick with edible and your guests will be grateful!
I am doing lotto scratchers. They are only $1/each and NJ has some wedding themed ones. Throw in a penny for scratching and your total cost per favor is $1.01.
The lotto scratch offs are very unique, and cute! We are doing playing cards, we come from families that play a lot of cards, so we thought that was a great way to incorporate ourselves into the wedding. Also, everyone uses playing cards, so that is how we decided on that!
Thank you!! For your suggestions I was actually considering something similar to that ... I was thinking personalizing shot glasses ... But then Since we are inviting a lot of people from our church wasn't sure if that would be the best thing or how they might take it (some of our guest are very religious) not that I see nothing wrong with it but yea... The site is very useful and I really like some of the things in there once again thank you!! Oh and I'm having a rose peddle theme I love roses !!!
Doing lotto scratchers sounds like a very creative and fun idea! Is a good way of including the guest in your favors! Mmm... This sure helps me narrow down my ideas and decide upon one wedding favor I like!!
Thank you all for your help!

I wouldn't give shot glasses to people who hold very conservative religious views. Also, just for future reference, it's rose petals not rose peddle.
There is a very tiny chance that people will leave your wedding saying OMG, that favor was just so original and unique! It's just not important a detail. And nearly anything you get has undoubtedly been done somewhere before. So it wouldn't be "unique".
Often when you try for "original and unique", it just comes off as forced. Choose something that reflects you and considers your guests. I'd much rather have two delicious chocolate truffles than something "unique" that you think is cool.
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146
I made tile coasters. I'm giving them to people in sets of 4 so that they will match. They will also double as escort cards. They are really easy to make and are very cheap, too. The tiles were only $0.16 ea and I mod podged scrapbook paper on. I'm assigning them to people based on what I already know is in their homes or what I know their taste is. They can always trade later and they have nothing to do with our names or wedding date.
We are doing Lotto Scratch offs as well.. FI and I's first date was to the casino and he now works at the casino so we thought it would be fun. We have little boxes we're putting everything in. The box will have a Hug and Kiss candy and the Lotto Ticket and Scratch off. We have a little tagline saying "Lucky in Love, Hugs and Kisses from the Mr. and Mrs!" Cheap and easy!
