Two favors or one?!?!

So I've been thinking a lot about our wedding favors and I can't decide what to do. We both agreed that giving each guest a lotto ticket inside a small envelope with a penny from 2012 (the year we're getting married) would be a cute and inexpensive favor. However, I worry that just a lotto ticket  isn't enough!

I was also considering doing small candy jars filled with our favorite candies placed at each table setting with a sticker saying:
Sweet Beginnings
Sarah & Tim
5.26.12

Would doing both favors be overkill?? I just can't decide :( Also, if we do the lotto tickets should we put any type of saying on them like 'Lucky in Love' or will the two sayings be confusing??

Thanks for the advice!!

I just wrote a similar post on possibly having 2 favors... with your options though... I think I would do the lottery ticket and penny for everyone (very cute idea!!!)... and forget the candy. (just my opinion though)  please read my question about 2 favors for my wedding.

I say the lotto cards are fine by themselves.

We were thinking of doing this, but I have a question. Are you setting the envelopes at each place setting or in a big bowl at the escort card table?

I had planned on setting each one at the table settngs. I know that no matter what someone is going to take more than one but I was going to put them in small envelopes that you can't see through so hopefully that'll keep people from hoarding them right at the beginning. And if there are extras, maybe someone will get lucky :)

i normally would vote for the edible favors but i like the idea of a lottery ticket and penny because it's different and people will check the ticket.  i know my parents would love that over candy. i think that favor is enough. you don't need two favors.
