wooden box favor?

I know its common for people to not really care for tricket-y type favors, but my father, who is a very talent woodworker, has offered to make small wooden boxes for each guest, then I'd probably put a candy or something inside with a thank you/handmade with love by XXX tag. It wouldn't have any indication it was from our wedding. It would be like something like the link below, but smaller. He's made gifts for my family before and they cherish them.

It's sweet that your dad has offered to do this but I would recommend filling it with candy.  I got something similar as a BM gift and it wound up in the back of a closet and was finally donated during a move.

That's really pretty!  Do be emotionally prepared for the fact that some might get left behind, which could be sad after all the love and work of making them by hand.

I think it's a nice favor though.
