We are getting married in December 10 days before Christmas; I was thinking of using personalized Christmas Ornamants as a wedding favor. What do you think???
I think an ornament would be fine, but I wouldn't personalize it. I'm not even sure I would put up an ornament of an extremely close friend if it was personalized, let alone of a friend of my husband's.
The general rule of thum b on the personalization is that it's okay on consumables or on things that you don't put out for display. Don't personalize picture frames, coasters, glasses, etc. But things that you don't use for the sake of decor - pens, notepads - are fine.
i went to a jan 2nd wedding where they gave the simple ball ornament (decorated wtih glitter) as the favor. they had a personalized ribbon on it, so you could leave the ribbon on, or take it off.
was a really cute idea - we had fun trading each other for the color we wanted! haha.
Identical to Gymbug, we attended a NYE wedding and ornaments, in the wedding colors, with personalized (removable) ribbons were also the favor. It was well received by most guests.
The bride "hung" the ornaments from the water goblets at some tables, and atop tall glass vases at other tables. It was a cute look. I will warn you, however, that at least from that brides' perspective.....threading and bowing all those ribbons was very tedious and frustrating. It was almost impossible for her to create a "uniform" looking bow on the ornaments (which was apparently her goal).
