Okay, not saying I'm not getting any favors, BUT, would simply having "champange" bubbles be alright? I really don't have the budget to get something else, so what do you think?
I was thinking the exact same thing. I don't think that I'm going to do favors. I can think of other ways I can spend that money... And does anyone even remember them anyway? I can't think of a single favor that I have liked or didn't throw away...
But I would be interested to hear other bride's thoughts...
Favors are absolutely not required. They are simply an additional gesture to thank your guests for sharing your day with you.
However, if you do decide to use them, edible is always best. Other, more kitschy favors (glasses, magnets, etc.), will almost always end up in the garbage.

I agree, favors are not required. I would suggest not getting something just because it is cheap or easy. Think about what you would do if you were at a wedding and that was the favor. Hard to go wrong with an edible favor.
I've been wondering the same thing. I think instead of favors I'm going to add an extra meat or pasta to my food menu. Hopefully my guests will appreciate more variety and more food as opposed to favors.
My fiance and I decided not to have favors. We're still going to give little packages of confetti or bird seed or something of the sort. My mom was telling us that giving favors to everyone is a relatively new trend; people didn't used to do it. We began to wonder who first decided spending the extra money was necessary... haha So, I don't believe favors are a necessity! Many times they just get thrown away or even left at the reception!
