I was thinking some Godiva chocolates but questioning myself now... thinking maybe there's something more theme related.. my theme has become a tropical / lost city / pirate-type thing

You could buy Ring Pop's (if they have them in your area). Or check you local bulk food store, sometimes they have candy jewels.
