Hey everyone! My fiance and I are getting married July 3rd. We are trying to stay away from anything to 4th of julyish, but he does want the favor to maybe have a little bit of a 4th of july theme....Any ideas? Thanks!
Mini blueberry or cherry pies. Or lemon icebox pies (think key lime but made with lemons) topped with blueberries or raspberries/strawberries. I think Martha Stewart did those as a favor for a wedding. Little jars of jam featuring seasonal fruit. Matches go over big--who doesn't need a box of matches at some point?, but we kept ours on the bar and out of little hands' reach. We ordered ours from theknot.com store and were more than happy. Also, you don't need to have a tangible favor, necessarily. We splurged on the dessert bar with lots of cookies, cake, canoli, and pie, and the fancy coffee bar (a surprise from my mother) made the guests (and my husband--a true pie person) pretty happy. And the set-up worked well: have a cookie, mingle, maybe step outside to enjoy a cigar, then back to the cookies. Extra cookies were packed up in chinese take-out boxes at the end of the night.

Re: favor ideas for a july 3 wedding
you can possibly do sparklers.
Check www.orientaltrading.com. I just got my catalogue, and they had a lot of patriotic stuff.
Good luck.
