Pine tree favor?

So it appears to me that everyone here prefers edible favors. So keeping that in mind...how would you receive the following idea...
We were originally going to do small glass jars with a wire snap top filled with M&Ms...however we can no longer get the specific jars we want. My fiance likes the square jars and refuses to go with the round jars which are all we can find now. So we have switched gears and are now looking at going with these instead:
Our wedding will be in Allens Park, Colorado (near Estes Park) at the Wild Basin Lodge in late October. We are expecting the aspen trees to be bare and so we are incorporating more pine trees into our theme. Our center peices will have pine boughs, as well as small items for the flower girls, ring bearer etc. So this favor fits our theme well and is only a small increase to the budget. We also have plans for any trees not picked up/left behind after the reception, so that is not a huge concern.
Would you still do one tree per guest or one per invitation/couple/family? Would you be strongly opposed to this favor? An edible items is looking less like an option for us, and so if you are opposed to this item, what other non-edible item would you prefer?

Here is my etsy link for custom coasters. I can create a custom coaster with your photo & wedding date/names. Each guest can get 1 and cost would drop significantly in multiples from $5 a piece to $3!

Also the tree type of tree we order will be plantable/appropriate in all three states. So it would not be a forgein type or not suitable to the weather of those states.

Since it's something that gets planted in the yard, one per couple/family should do it.

Nobody wants a coaster with someone else's wedding information on it. Also, you can't advertize here.
