I love fall weddings, and I love eatible favors! The trick is to give them something special enough to remember. I make and sell these little pomanders. They each have 5 ferrero rochers and your choice of colored silk flower buds. Convo me on etsy that you saw these here and I will give you a discount (percentage dependant on volume of order.) Here is the link to them on etsy: http://www.etsy.com/listing/60474324/chocolate-pomander-favor They look great hung on a manzanita branch, or on the back of each chair! Other ideas (because I want to be impartial): Leaf shaped sugar cookies iced in yellow orange green and red M&Ms with your initials and date in your colors in little corked bottles Chocolate covered pretzels in little bags with a favor tag
More traditionally you could do chocolates or sugar cookies in the shape of leaves or something or perhaps a cinnamon snicker doodle cookie as that's a nice fall flavor. I like the idea for spices for mulled cider as well.
We got married in October of this year and we had personalized fortune cookies dipped in caramel and toffee as our favors. We each picked a quote about marriage and those were put inside the cookies. We gave away two cookied per guest in a small takeout box sealed with a monogram sticker. We got the cookies from www.goodfortunes.com
I'm getting married in September 2011 and I've decided to go with edible favors, but , mine have a story behind them....My grandfather and I were especially close until he passed away suddenly when I was 16, in honor of him I'm planning to try and find the scotch peppermints he used to drop on my homework or into my hand like they were secret treasures as a means of encouraging me when I was frustrated.
I'm getting married in September and we are doing mini mustards and jams from Stonewall Kitchen. Originally we were going to do pumpkin whoopie pies or different flavored dipped apples. A cookie bar could be fun too!
I am getting married next Sun. We are filling the little blue "tiffany" looking boxes they sell here on The Knot up with chocolate leaves that I had a local chocoltier make for us.
Each box is going to have 3 chocolate leaves that have cranberries and almonds in them. They are even filling the boxes for us and it is costing $1.00 per box.

Caramel or candy apples are popular and I considered them for my fall wedding. I ended up doing a candy buffet instead.
Oh and I also considered the chocolate pretzels with a little tag that said "We tied the knot." I saw that on TK and thought it was cute.
