Tears of joy

I have been on the fence about the "tears of joy" favors for the ceremony. If I do them, I will be diy'ing them as 99 percent of my wedding is lol...is anyone else doing these? Why if so? Why not? Im looking for everyones pros and cons. I think they are cute, but idk if I want to spend the money or not.

Re: Tears of joy

  • I think people who are prone to tear up will already have tissues with them.  The rest of us will probably leave them on our chairs or the pews.

I'm with GLB - I think the overwhelming majority will be left behind.  That's because I think the overwhelming majority of wedding guests don't cry at weddings.  Mom's, g'mas, and  BFF's may get teary, but everyone else will be fine.  Save yourself the hassle on that one.
  • It's a little presumptuous to assume your ceremony will bring everyone to tears. I'm sure some people will, but those close enough to you or those prone to waterworks will bring tissues.

Honestly that was my original gut instinct with it. I kept seeing everyone else do them and while they are cute, I was thinking um no, this is a waste of money and that money could go towards something else. Thanks for validating my original thoughts/feelings.

If you'd read the whole thread, you would have seen that this wasn't OP's mindset at all.

Thank you! Seriously, I had seen a few brides making them...honestly had never heard of them before until I saw the diy ones being made. I thought this was a new trend but couldnt see spending the money on them, at the same time the way they were being made, they were cute. I simply asked for opinions on if anyone was doing them, if so why? I never said nor assumed that my wedding would be so wonderful it would just move everyone

to tears. I'm not some hoity toity stuck

up princess, but thanks for assuming that.
