Ribbon wilting??

Our favors are going to be in boxes with ribbon tied around them with a bow on top.  I want to get these favors done and out of the way (wedding is December 23) but mom is saying we shouldn't tie the ribbons around the boxes yet because they will "wilt" and the bows will get flat.  Has anyone had this problem?  Does anyone know of a way to keep the ribbons from "wilting?" I was thinking maybe some starch or hairspray?  I just want these things done! lol. Thanks!

    They shouldn't "wilt" as long as they are stored properly (in a dry place, not stacked on top of each other, etc).  

    How many of these do you have to do?  When my sister and I got married we tied about 150 favor boxes in like an hour, a few days before her wedding.
