carmel apples as table cards and favor?

I was planning on using carmel apples as favors for my fall wedding. However, my sister suggested that we use them as both table cards (that I can attach to ribbon with leaf cut shapes) and favors. Few issues...would I have to use 2 separate apples for each guest (rather than 1 for any "couples")? What do people think about this idea? I suppose I could write a thank you from us on one label and then the guests name and table # on the other label....?

    SOunds yummy!

I'm not sure I understand the 2 apples per guest vs 1 per couple part. Do one apple per guest.  I would write the guest's name and table # on one side of the leaf (front so it's visible) and the TY message on the back of the leaf OR do 2 leaves on each apple, one with the table # and one with the TY message.

Sorry I should clarify....basically I was wondering whether or not I should have 1 apple per guest or 1 per couple if using as table cards. Does that sound like a good idea to use table cards as favor also?

Absolutely a good way to use it as a favor and a place card.  But you do need 1 apple per person since it's a favor also - don't want the couples to have to share an apple and the singles to get one all to themselves.  You might have a riot.  ;-)

My fiance's brother got married last weekend, and the bride did caramel apples as a favor as well but had never made them before (nor had any of us who were helping!).  It ended up being a TON of work and they all kind of melted and the caramel stuck to the wrappers big time.  So if you haven't made them before and wrapped them in something, I'd highly recommend trying it out beforehand to make sure it'll turn out how you want.  Better to find out weeks instead of days before the wedding :)  Also, a lot of what we read about how to make them online said they needed to be refrigerated for a couple of days, so make sure you have enough space available.  Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback...I'm very well aware that those issues you had mentioned can occur...which is why we are choosing to have a farm that regularly makes these carmel apples do the work with packaging, etc. It might cost us a little bit extra to go this way but I'm willing to do it rather than fight with a possible mess! We'll arrange to pick them up day of or day before and make sure they are refrigerated if needed. Thanks though!
