How elaborate must the favors really be? I mean I've heard the debates over are favors really even necessary, and I know that I want to do SOMETHING. It's not that I don't love my guests, but I'm spending so much already with food and things. I should give back since they've all been so giving, but I mainly just want them there and I've told many guests many times to not worry about presents since I just want them to be there. (Like out of town guests or guests that can't really do much at this point in their life... I get that. I just want them to share the day not the money...) Anyway, all I'm getting at is it's all getting expensive and I'm trying to save any little penny I can. Is something as simple as a bubble wand too offensive or do I need to do more elaborate favors? Just curious of your opinions! Thanks
I've been to many weddings with nothing at all and I didn't hear any complaints. I think it's nice to leave a little token piece of candy, or something of the like, but nothing is "necessary."
As I'd mentioned to someone else, Godiva chocolate boutiques have a clearance on their "Gems" right now. These are small, individually wrapped chocolates that come in bags with roughly 40 piecs per bag. They are changing their packaging and just selling off the current stock to make room for the new. Three bags of Godiva chocolates for $25 is a great deal and people know the name.
I'm doing Godiva chocolates (different type than described above), decorated bubble wands, a small monogrammed thank you card, and a bell that is attached to the seating card. Nothing grandiose, but enough to say I thought of them and appreciate their attendance.
Re: Elaborate?
No one needs favors, it's a special treat, IMO. But, you can do as simple as bubble wands or little Hershey kisses.

Good luck and congratulations!
