If I do bubbles with ribbons and tags, do I also need to favors on the tables at the reception? I am trying to keep the total cost of the wedding under $5000 and really don't want to buy both, if I don't have to.
So, as your favor to your guests, you're giving them bubbles? I mean how much are these bubbles costing you? You could forego the bubbles and give your guests a token favor or you can nix the favors all together.
How many bubbles do you need? With a 50% off craft store coupon, you could get a package of 24 bubbles for $2.80 (including tax). Then you could just buy some ribbon in your wedding colors for $0.50 a roll and tie them around the bubbles. Bubbles aren't really wedding favors though, they are more just for the bride and groom sendoff. Although favors are not mandatory, if you want to have favors you could do something inexpensive and edible (a few homemade cookies in a giftbag, a candy bar with a personalized label, some hershey kisses in a little gift bag).
September 2011 November Siggy Challenge: First Dance Photo (I still haven't uploaded all of my wedding pictures, so here's a picture of what happens when you mix me, my bridesmaids, a man who hates to dance, and an open bar).
I don't think that bubbles really count as favors, either. I say this to everybody, but handmade tile coasters are REALLY cheap to make and are very pretty. You can make them for less than a dollar each. You can google instructions or PM me if you like the idea.
Bubbles wouldn't really be a favor for your guests. They'd be for you for a cute photo op. At least I think that's what you'd want them for~I hope that's what you're thinking they're for.
Because, honestly, what in the world would any guy over the age of 7 want with a little container of bubbles?
Use the bubbles. But please don't call them a favor for your guests. Because they're not.
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146
I agree bubble are not a favor. In the end you would have wasted your money on bubble that will probably be left at the table at the end of the night. If you don't want to spend much just buy a couple of bags of the Hershey's Miniatures and put some in a flavor bag. Then they could at least eat it.
