I'm not sure how to distribute my favors. For the ladies I'm making stationery notecard sets with pictures of butterflies & dragonflies (our theme) on them and they'll be tied together with ribbon. RIght now I'm planning on using little tins with fishing lures and "Hooked on Love" or She caught him on them (saw the idea somewhere, can't remember where).
So my questions are
(1) What would be the best way to distribute these? Should I have them placed at each seat? I'm having assigned seats, so it'd be possible to get them to the boys/girls. The only other thing I've seen done is a sort of receivingline where the bride andgroom were at the head table, people brought up their gift cards and got said hi and got their favors. This may have been something somewhat unique to my family's nationality though.
(2) Any ideas what other "guy" gifts I could do? I'm having trouble finding fishing lures to match our theme/color that are also reasonably priced andfit in the tin. I liked the idea because FI and most of the guys at the wedding would actually USE them... Should I just not worry about the color and make the tins cute and themed?
Sorry so long... I'm starting to reallytry to put the finishing ideas together.\
Thanks!
ETA: Small wedding about 50 people, also doing a candy buffet and matches
Re: Handing out favors, "guy" favfor ideas?
I've actually never heard of gender specific favors. I don't really think they're necessary.
I didn't start out "gender specific" but wanted to do stationery (blank cards with photos of butterflies and dragonflies on the front that I've taken) and didn't figure guys would be at all excited by that so figured I'd do something different for the guys...
I did a mental count of the "fishermen" and I'd say all but 1 guy on his side and maybe 3-4 on my side fish/did fish (some are older) and would probably think it was a pretty cool present (so maybe 25% of the guys at most wouldn't use it).. and if they don't there's still the candy buffet... I'm guessing about the same percentage of the females won't use the cards... but I think it's still pretty good "useage rate" for a non-food item...
