Hi Ladies! I need help--My co-worker does pottery and has offered to make my wedding favors. I need to give her an idea of what I want. I know they will be magnets. My wedding date is 9-10-11 so I would like to incorporate somehow.
FWIW, if I were a guest I would leave a magnet that was personalized with someone's names/date on the table. I know other brides have reported similar results with personalized favors, that the majority will get left behind.
That being said, if you would like to incorporate your date on your favor, do something edible, like a cookie or something. If you want to stick with the magnets, do something less personalized, maybe a shape that goes along with the theme? And have a back-up plan on what to do with all the leftovers.
I agree about the magnet. If it was for a STD, I think it would be different, but you said you were using the pottery from your friend as wedding favors. What about making small votive candle holders, with the candle or the pottery-candle holder in a mesh bag? You can incorporate the colors of your wedding. Maybe just get the ribbon personalized with your wedding date? I think that would be cute...
