H and I have decided to go to the beach in June. It'll be general summer trip + delayed first anniversary trip + celebrating H having the summer off from classes. But I have a conundrum about where to stay.
His parents are going the same week we are and have graciously offered to let us have the second bedroom in the (beautiful) condo they'll be staying in. Cost to us = $0.
I've also been looking at condos we can rent on our own. The most economical choice (but still close to the beach) isn't exactly beautiful inside (on par with the average hotel room, though). Cost to us = $600.
I could also splurge and find a nicer, better decorated condo for $800-1000.
We have our tax refund we could use for this, so we do have the money for any of these options. However, whatever we don't use for this week getaway to the beach will go toward next summer's trip to Europe (which we'll need to work hard to save up for).

A geniune thank you for all the votes and especially the comments! I honestly had been leaning toward the inexpensive condo on our own (H had been leaning toward sharing with his parents) but your comments swayed me. We really do get along with them well, and they've told us that we're welcome to hang out with them or go our own way as much as we want to, so I think we'll have as much privacy as we possibly could while sharing a place.
And now we'll have a solid $1k to put toward our Paris/London 2013 trip, yay!
