Jelly Beans- How far in advance?

I am getting married in August and planning on putting jelly beans in mason jars for my favor. How early do you think I can order them and place them in the jars? Anyone have experience with jelly beans?

I love jelly beans!!! We are doing them too in mason jars!!

I already put mine together, 80 days early. The mason jars are pretty air tight so I believe they should be fine :)

I work for Jelly Belly and of course, I ordered jelly beans as my favors (smile!).  If you buy beans in a package sealed by the manufacturer like JB, the shelf life ranges from 1 year to 18 months.  I would be very careful buying the beans in bulk too early and exposing it to air for a long periods of time.  I handle beans everyday and they are less fresh the longer they are out of a sealed packaging.   Having them in air tight containers will certainly help.  BTW, I ordered my favors about 6 weeks ago (getting married next weekend).  Good luck!

VuMyers--- Thanks for the information! I was looking for just what you said! We are doing jelly beans (as they are FI and I's favorite candy!) and I just had no idea how long they'd stay fresh. I was worried about buying too soon and having our guests try to chomp down on old, stale beans!!

    haha thanks :)
