flip flop wedding favors

Does any one have any cleaver ideas for how to figure out what sizes flip flops to order for guests? I have 125 people coming to the wedding and want flip flops for people to put on, but not sure if i should leave a note in the invites? I really dont know at the time the invites go out if i want to do these for sure, but dont want anyone to be with out flip flops.

Unless your wedding and reception are on a beach:  I think this is not a great "favor" idea.

I don't know of many men who would remove their shoes and socks to put on flip flops with a suit.

I wouldn't put on a pair of new flip flops when I'm dressed up.  And I live in flip-flops from April-November if I can.  But not brand new ones.  And not cheap ones.

And your question is right:  how exactly do you figure out sizes?  Unless you ask each guest what size they want, you're liable to have nothing but size 10's left when my size 5.5 DD and DIL get there.  Not much of a favor......

As an adult, I'm responsible for my own footwear.  This is something that just seems like effort and $$ that won't really work.

See CA2's note at the top about favors.  It has LOTS of good advice!
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146

I agree with the PP, logistically this is a nightmare. Most people never take the flip flops anyway. Unless you're having a platinum wedding and have the money to splurge on Havaianas or something, providing people with flip flops that cost a couple of bucks probably are less comfortable than the shoes they came in. Plus I've seen it make pretty horrid reception pictures.

I am picky about my flip flops, and if I think there is a possibility my shoes may be coming off at the end of the night, I will bring my own flip flops to change in to.  My guy would not be caught dead in a pair of flip flops, and neither would most of his friends.

I agree with the moderator.  I would take my own if I needed to, but I would probably not purchase shoes that will hurt my feet.  And FI is also not a flip flop wearer, especially in long pants. You may be left with a lot of sandals at the end of the night and that is not really a favor

I am thinking about purchasing some from Old Navy during their $1 flop sale this Saturday for people to slip on as they walk to the beach ceremony.  Just going to buy random sizes and put a large label showing the size.

If I were going to a beach ceremony, I think it would be pretty self explanatory as to where I was going and what kind of footwear would be needed.
