Engraved Maracas for Wedding Favors

Hi Everyone and Congratulations on your engagement!

My fiance' and I are getting married in Mexico and having our reception back in the U.S. and would like to have a pair of mini maracas engraved with his and my name as wedding favors.  Does anyone know a website where I can get this done?  I've found a ton of sites with maracas but none that do engraving.  Thanks so much!

Re: Engraved Maracas for Wedding Favors

  • Instead of having it engraved, maybe you could find someone good with caligraphy to write or paint your names on them?

Honestly though....I hate to be a downer, but if I was a guest I don't think I'd take personalized mini maracas with someone else's names on them.  If it was MY name, then maybe I'd take it, though I'd likely end up throwing it away within a few weeks when I realized that I had absolutely no use for it.   Also, for a destination wedding I would likely not have any room in my suitcase to take anything home with me -- I pack right up to the size limit/weight limit, especially if I'm only doing carry-on, so taking things home is usually not an option.

Have you thought about doing something edible?  A mexican sweet or candy maybe?

  • I agree with PP. Maybe you could get maraca shaped sugar cookies. Those would be cute. And I love cookies. :)

  • Cute idea, but I think you will have a lot left over. This is one of those things that ends up being clutter collecting dust.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • Cute idea, but to be honest, since I don't have kids, I would probably throw them away when I got home. But if you really want to incorporate them into your reception, if you're assigning tables, what about using the them as placecards, you can just use a sharpie to right the guests name & table assignment on it. Then instead of tapping glasses to get you to kiss, they can shake their maracas. You can have a family member or friend do it the first time to kind of set the tone for that.
