Rehearsal Attire

What is the proper etiquette for your wedding party @ the Rehearsal?  My nephew (9 yrs old) is an usher and my sister asked if he could wear shorts & t-shirt.  I asked if he MUST wear shorts then to wear khaki's and a polo or a button-up to go with it.  She then starts a fight w/ me that he is "just an usher."  I honestly don't care what he wears but why ask me 3 days before Rehearsal what he needs to wear and hate my suggestions!!!

Re: Rehearsal Attire

  • I would think that's determined by the type of dinner you're having afterward.

At my rehearsal I think most of the guys wore nice jeans and nice shirts, some wore slacks.

I was in a wedding where guys wore jeans and t-shirts.

I really wouldn't let it stress you out.  You're getting married!

  • I agree don't stress too much over it. Just enjoy these last few days.

  • I just told people to wear whatever they wanted. Our RD was in a casual restaurant, so jeans was not a big deal.
  • Unless you are having a formal rehearsal then I don't think it matters. And it might be good to just let him be comfortable before all the big responsibilities the next day. :-)
