Favors

Kill two birds with one stone

So I thought this might be helpful for someone who isnt to big on spending money on favors. I'd rather spend money on something else for my wedding then spend it on favors that get left behind. I know I always forget my favor at weddings. Im doing a photobooth and included in my package is 200 photo slip reminders. I can pick a super cute poem just stating that we have a photobooth and then they tie a ribbon of our color on the top. I figured why not use these as my favors..set them out before guest arrive and then they have it to put there pics in. Nothing extra spent since its included in a package!

I don't know what a "photo slip reminder" is, but favors are never required and lots of brides have photobooths.

It's awesome that your photobooth package includes some extras, but it's nothing new or groundbreaking!

<div>This seems a little harsh. She didn't say she had a new and groundbreaking idea; she was simply sharing some information and an idea she had. It's no different than if someone asked if a favor was a good idea or asked if anyone had any ideas for favors and she replied with what she was doing. She was just being helpful. </div>

  • Thanks Addie!! Yeah this idea is def not ground breaking haha. I was just saying Im not big on favors (and also know they are not required) but this was just an idea for people who are in the same boat. A photo reminder slip is something they can set out at every table reminding people that there is a photobooth and not to forget to stop by it! Its something cute they stick there pics in afterwards!

No, it's not harsh. It's being honest that a photobooth and/or reminder slips for guests to use the photobooth is not a "new" idea. <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" />

The OP sharing something that's included in <em>her </em>package for free doesn't help others, either, to be fair.

<div>But she never claimed it was new or groundbreaking, so to say that to her seems mean-spirited and pointless. And sharing what she got in her package for free may or may not help others. It might be something someone who was using a photo booth didn't know about and might ask their vendor about. </div><div>
</div><div>I just don't see the point in shutting someone down b/c they wanted to share their perfectly good idea. If she was giving away goldfish as her favor, by all means, pipe up and tell her that's a bad idea. Your post reads as, "Nobody cares what you're doing," and that's just not necessary. </div>

[QUOTE]In Response to Re:Kill two birds with one stone: Gotta go with Addie. I'm all about "tough love" when it's needed, but your post was just randomly biiitchy and pointless, since OP never said it was new or different. Think of it this way, would you run around posting your response here on every thread about an edible favor idea? Is your new mission to randomly let EVERY poster know whether or not their wedding idea is unique? If not, then yeah, the response was just harsh.

    My sincerest apologies.

I guess I don't see why someone starting an entirely new thread about something they personally got free with their photobooth package is helpful at all to anyone.

I told the OP it was awesome she found a good deal, but no one here would really know what a "photo slip reminder" is.
  • Thanks stage! ItzMs the only reason I thought this would be helpful to someone, is if someone else on here is getting a photobooth and this is also included in there package...they could also use them as favors and spend no extra money. I understand favors are not required but this is a good idea for someone who doesnt want to spend that extra money or spend the time making something... Im not bragging that its "free" its just what was in my package and hopefully some bride out there could find it helpful to maybe look into there photobooth packages..

  • I also got this idea from a friend who is doing the exact same thing.. Shes the one who told me she was doing it, so it was very helpful to me, thats why Im passing it on
  • I dont think they are pointless, its something to hold there pic in after the photobooth. Like a magnet or whatever I decide on. Def not pointless, good way to not have the pics bend..
  • No biggy...I should have said that in the first post.
