beach wedding - flip flops for men? is this necessary?

Hi girls,

I'm having a beach wedding and have found a great deal on flip flops in a variety of sizes that I'm gonna put in a basket or bucket with a sign to "kick off your shoes" or something to that effect.  All the flip flops I bought are definitely for women.  Should I search for flip flops for men as well?  or assume that the only people snatching them up will be the ladies eager to get out of their uncomfortable heels?

Thoughts?

I don't think they're necessary for anyone.  As an adult I am responsible for my own footwear.

Unless you're keeping the fact that you're having a beach wedding a secret, I don't see people wearing heels to it.

I love flip-flops and wear them all spring, summer, and fall.  But I don't wear the cheap ones, and unbroken-in flip flops are torturous to me.

I'd just let people know that your wedding is on a beach, and then expect them to dress accordingly.
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146

Well, the wedding is actually in a church right near the beach, then a reception is in a room on the beach.  So, the flip flops were kind of just for fun, guests can wear whatever shoes they want, then as a favor, feel free to take a pair that I've provided if they feel like going out onto the beach or their high heels are uncomfortable.  I'm definitely providing a bucket of flip flops for girls... I'm just wondering if I should bother buying some for men too.

Don't bother with them for the men.  A lot of men I know don't like them and prefer non-thonged sandals and on top of that, the shoes they'll be wearing to the wedding are flat and will probably be more comfortable than whatever shoes the women are wearing.

Thanks girls!  I'll skip it then.  I got bulk flip flops for the girls, that should be more than enough.
