Melting candy buffet??

I'm planning on doing a candy buffet for favors and my reception will be under a tent at the end of August. We will be having an evening reception (5pm - 10pm). Any ideas on how to keep the candy from melting? I was planning on doing chocolate but that might be out of the question now that I'm thinking about it. I was thinking of getting a large bowl, having it filled with ice and then putting the smaller vases/jars filled with candy inside of them. Any other ideas?

I would do hard candies only. Or skip the candy buffet and give out individual bags of candies that you can keep cool until time to give them out. A melted candy buffet would not be fun!

Trying to do the ice thing will cause a lot of condensation and your table will look terrible.  How about a cookie buffet?

</div><div>I think this idea would be better - there's way less chances of there being a sticky gooey mess! </div><div>
</div><div>What you could also do is wrapped hard candies....jolly rancher style, but those probably get sticky in warm weather too, esp. if there is humidity. </div><div>
</div><div>I'm gonna second the cookie buffet idea!</div>

I talked to my venue about the idea and they also suggested a cookie buffet too (and they'll do everything for it!). I had my heart set on the candy buffet idea, but I'll get over it. It seems to come out to about the same price anyways.
