grand exit ideas

hi everyone! i need your good ideas! i had always dreamed of having a grand exit from my church with rose petals, but (of course....) my church does not allow it. they have banned the use of any: rice, birdseed, or rose petals. Basically, we can't do anything that will make a mess. i'm not too big of a fan of the bubbles, so i'm wondering if you have any other cool ideas?

i googled it last night and the only things i found were to have guests ring bells or to do brightly colored umbrellas.

Here is ours...we used sparklers and biodegradable confetti -

I don't know if your church would allow it or not but the confetti is very light, carries with the wind very easily and dissolves with a little water/rain.

Can you do sparklers?  That would be pretty if you are having an evening ceremony.

My church wont allow any of those things either so I am also trying to get some ideas... I also thought of ribbon wands in my colors....

The LED balloons sounds great since my ceremony will be at 7pm... where do you get those?

Yea.. Ribbons is getting more popular but I don't think they make for great pics. Lindsey I love your exit.
Have you thought about doing a grand entrance to the reception or exit at the reception?

I'm doing my grand exit at the reception - I've actually never been to a wedding where they did it at church, because the WP usually sticks around for pics while guests head over to the reception.  I'm doing bubbles, so not much help there, but I'd say check with your reception venue about what's allowed there.

I was going to suggest exiting from the reception also.  That's what we did.

    Lindsey = best exit ever.

I like the confetti idea - it makes for fun pictures.

another wedding I know of did a fun noodle exit.  Meaning, the guests either threw or gently hit the couple with those pool noodles - it was hilarious.

We did bubbles and guests threw the orchids from our tables at us.  This made for such fun pictures because we rode off on a bike!

thanks for the ideas girls! i don't think i'll be able to do it at the reception because my photographer will be leaving at 8pm and we'll be staying until about midnight (maybe later...)

I know this doesn't help you, but we're doing sparklers and I'm really excited about it. I just can't remember if my coordinator said to get the 20" or the 36".

    Thanks Steph and Deepths!!

Bananna - I would just get the 20'' sparklers...they are cheaper and when you run through them it takes like 10 seconds. Most of ours were still sparking as we drove away.

Have you looked at the hand rolled ribbon/streamers?  I found these on etsy, but the computer won't let me post the link the right way...

My mom suggested the fiberoptic flashlight thingies for the kids (but this would be for night, so sorry not much help).
Disclaimer: Please excuse the above comment. I'm probably freaking out because there is less than one month to go. Thank you.

I just bought my sparklers from Superior Celebrations and they literally came in the mail in 2 days! I paid $49 for a pack of 144. No shipping charge either.
