Do wedding invitations have to match your colors?

my fiance and i recently found an invitation that we love but isn't one of our colors. is this a big deal?  we chose dark purple and burnt orange as our colors and the invitations are in a deep red.

They don't have to...that's really up to you; It's your wedding. Usually people do match their colors with their invites though(or they get white/ivory invites). There was no way to change the color? Sometimes you can pick a design and they will let you pick the colors. Pick what you like, don't regret it later.

Remember your invitations are the first introduction to your wedding.  Do the invitations evoke the mood, theme, and formality of your wedding?

Jay: We can change but I think we like them better in the deep red.  Maybe we should change our colors.LOL. 

Cajita: They do evoke the mood, theme, and formality of your wedding.  Our theme is double hearts which there are two hearts on the friend and its not formal but its not casual.  if that makes any sense.. :-)
