Candy Buffet

I'm really interested in doing a candy buffet with custom made containers for people to help themselves to as my wedding favors. Has anyone else done this? And if so, how did it go over with your guests? What kind of candy did you do and was it too costly? Thanks!

We did a candy buffet. We had seven types of candy, and guests loved it. It was a big hit. We purchased approximately 1/4 lb. of candy per guest, and it worked well. There was plenty of candy to keep the jars filled all night, but we didn't have much leftover.

I purchased apothecary jars to use as containers. I believe it ended up costing around $1,100 when all was said and done, but I know people who have done it for less. I had very specific jars in mind because I wanted to use them in our home after the wedding, so quite a bit of my cost was in those.

I did a candy buffet! Guests always love a candy buffet. I would save money and skip the color coordinating candy. Just get everyone's favorite candies.

HERE are the favor boxes I made from the ones at the dollar tree.

I got my candy on clearance from Target after major candy holidays (Halloween, Valentine's Day, ...) HERE are pics of the candy.

I spent about $100 total had 120 guests and had tons of left over candy!

I did a candy station with 14 different types of candy & it was a huge hit,I agree with the pp you should not go with your color theme but choose different types of candy that everyone loves.

Candy buffets aren't cheap.  Mine was probably $400 when all said and done.  I had a pretty formal wedding so I did an all white candy buffet to keep it elegant.  But there's no wrong way to do it.  It's also a nice decor element and a nice favor that everyone loves.  I agree wth 1/4 lb. a person.  All my "flavors" are in my planning bio.
