To all my bakers and cookie lovers

I'm having a rustic/country themed wedding and for favors I thought I would bake cookies and put them in cute, burlap favor bags (like the ones below). What flavor cookies would fit in well with my theme. Something sreams "oatmeal raisin" to me, maybe with fruit bits in them... Would love your suggestions!

Re: To all my bakers and cookie lovers

  • Maybe you could do like a "trail mix" type cookie?  I'd use an oatmeal cookie base and add things like dried fruit bits, chopped nuts, mini-chocolate chips... I think that could be both very tasty and "rustic".
  • While I don't personally know anyone with food allergies, keep in mind you may have guests with nut allergies.

Personally, I don't think you can go wrong with chocolate chip. I've loved to make mine with various sized chocolate (chips, chunks, small chips) plus a mix of milk, white, and dark chocolate.

Also, I would probably put the cookies in plastic before putting them in the burlap bags (in case you were not planning on doing that). Burlap can sometimes have a nasty smell, plus it would keep them from getting stale due to the airy nature of the burlap.
  • Oatmeal with chocolate chips

  • Nothing worse than biting into a cookie then finding out it is raisin and not chocolate chip!  Chocolate chip oatmeal would be nice.  Maybe it's just me but I absolutely hate nuts or fruit in cookies.  The bag is super cute though!
  • i'd do a chocolate chip oatmeal rasin something like that and  wrap in plastice and they are cute burlap bags...go for it.
  • Lemon or peanut butter. Maybe you could do a few different flavors and give them a cute little name like "Peanut to My Butter." Definately use plastic though. Definately.
