Favor Help! Looking for something truly unique!

I am looking for a truly unique idea for wedding favors....I have looked at doing sparklers with personalized match books - but can't because it is a fire hazard in NV in October.  I also looked at doing a candy bar, but am not really keen on doing it, because everyone else is.  Does anyone have any truly unique ideas for wedding favors?

Sorry, I don't have any unique ideas for you...  What might help you, is if you think of things that are unique to you and your FI, and go from there.  I think the best favors aren't the ones that are OUT THERE, but the ones that have some special meaning to the B and G.

No I totally agree, but we are doing something like that for our place settings(people just can't take them home with them.)

Try to stick with something edible. Maybe small boxes of you and your FI's favorite chocolate or other treat (that way it would still be personal)?

I can't say ours are terribly unique, but they are personalized. We are getting caramel-toffee dipped fortune cookies (www.goodfortunes.com). FI and I each picked our favorite quote about marriage and we put those as the fortunes, along with a generic "thank you for sharing our day with us" message. Since we both love Thai take-out, we got cheap white take-out boxes to fill with two cookies per guest. We are sealing those with a monogram sticker and stacking them as our centerpices.

I have read the sticky note and I disagree.

Special to the birde and groom does not have to mean OUT THERE DIFFERENT AND WACKY.  Like bottles of sand from their favorite beaches, or photos of their butterfly collection.

I've seen jams and salsa's made by the bride or groom, which IMO gives the favor some character and uniquness.  My FI and I share a cup of tea every night and decided to have tea and cookies as our favor.  It's us.  Its also edible and not so terribly unique or amazing.  But again, its something that is "us."

I agree with arv266!  The thing that makes your wedding different from all others is that it's unique to you and your FI!  There are ways to do that that will still be appreciated.

My FI and I chose our favorite candy - york peppermint patties - and packaged those up for our guests!  I did see a great wedding where they loved wine and bottled a small bottle of wine for each guest (bottles were filled with candy for non-drinkers.  Make it special, but universal!

I've seen wedding favors on TK that were
         - mini nests with birds in them
         - ceramic pears
         etc.

Just because someone says to have a favor that is unique to the bride and groom doesn't mean giving something that is a huge waste of money or useless.  Try giving your favorite flavors of jelly beans.  Cookies.  Cookie mix in a jar.  Etc.  Don't go overboard, but it doesn't mean you can't be unique to yourself.

I'd do something that you really like and would like to receive as a guest.

We're doing artisanal fleur de sel caramels in Chinese take out boxes topped with personalized matchbooks in our wedding colors.  I love collecting matches from favorite restaurants and events, and we both love caramels.

Our favors were a picture of us, with a Bible verse, our names and the date.  Then we put a magnet on the back

we're having a beach wedding and 95% of our guest are OOT and haven't been to this beach before so our favors are tiny glass bottles w/ sand (from the beach not store bought) and shells so everyone can take home a piece of the beach w/ them

Maybe try like a local candy bar or local desert.
