Any recommendations on photographers? I like the more artistic photojournalism but I do have a budget!

Check out the vendor list at the top of this board. And being on a budget is a very subjective term. That could mean $1000 for some people and 7k for others.

Ditto this.  I would look at the sticky and go through each one and see what your personal preference is.

Does that include engagement and bridal, as well as wedding day? If so, I'm not too familiar with any photogs for that price. I'm sure there are some out there, though.

yeah, i agree that it will be difficult to find an artistic/ photojournalist type photographer for that price point. lots of girl here rave about mcgowan and i personally love their style. 

other great photographers that aren't usually mentioned here but are in that realm of photography are andrea polito, joseph mark, sallee...but i think those will be out of your range. just need to decide how important that style is to you!

I second <a href="www.krauzianimage.com" target="_blank">Krauzian Image</a> (linked). Our package was $1995, and we got a few discounts (one was TK, one was being a Military Vet). This includes e-pics and bridals are just an extra $100. I think he has other options/packages now, I would check out his website. A married knottie (SoonToBeMrsHoz) used him, and her pics are fantastic!

I adore Mcgowan and many of the others that have been listed however many (including mcgowan) are not artsy or photojournalistic in style.  It may be difficult to find a good/consistent photog in that style for that price point.  You may need to consider which is more important style or price.

He isn't technically a "wedding photographer" but does some weddings and I like his work (plus he's an acquaintance/friend-of-a-friend and recommended vendor by by venue and DJ).

he did my best friends wedding and did an amazing job.  He was very fun to work with.  i think anyone would love his photos

I disagree. Of course their portrait sessions are not going to be photojournalistic in style, but I feel with the McGowans that their weddings are. They don't mainly focus on staged pictures during the wedding and try to stay out of the way and document things as they happen. That's what I think of when I think of photojournalistic style. Of course, that just might be me, but they have lots of examples on their website and blog for OP to decide for themselves.

I am seriously in love with Mack & Chelsea McGowan. We just took our engagement pictures with them last week and I can't stop looking at our 2 sneak peek pictures! I was extremely surprised that they were able to get such good pictures even though we were extremely awkward. And their packages start at $2,000 now for two photographers so if all you want is wedding day coverage they are in your budget.
