Is this a nice favor?

Hi ladies, I've been thinking about possible favors, and would love your opinions.  I'm getting married at a winery, and am thinking about giving a wine stopper with a thank you note attatched for a favor.  Is this tacky or not practical though?  I honestly can't afford to give a wine bottle per guest or couple.  My parents want to do a Viennese dessert tray after dinner, so candy favors are kinda ruled out.  Your thought on the wine stopper, or any other ideas, is greatly appreciated.  TIA!

The wine stopper is a good idea.  Just don't personalize it.

Nope, I'm not having a monogram or anything like that.  No one needs my name and date stamped on something lol.  I'd like to hand write "thank you" on a tag though.

I think it works perfectly with your wedding theme/location!  Definitely a good idea.  I've seen really cute heart-shaped ones recently too!

You can never have too many wine stoppers.  I think it's a great favor.

I agree - nice favor. Just one note of caution - sometimes the wedding favor wine stoppers are really tall - then I can't put the bottle standing up in my fridge, and that's annoying!

I like the stopper idea. They can get expensive though.  Do your research first! =)

ok, so not a great pic, but i'm DIY a set of wine charms for our 220ish guests. each one represents a part of our relationship, or a message to our guests.
They're made with memory wire (already formed into circles), so all I have to do is cut the wire, string the beads, and bend the ends!

you can also buy sets of wine charms.  with so many guests, i'm saving about $200-400 total by choosing to DIY.

Thanks everyone!  I definitely feel better about doing this.  I've seen some for around $2 each, which isn't bad at all.  I'll keep the length in mind too.  Cute DIY project gymbug!

Good afternoon, I just read your message and wanted to see if you might be interested in having me make custom wine charms for your wedding. They are darling miniature books customized with the event information on the first page and a photo of the couple on the last page. I will have my wine charms on the Knot soon, but if you want to take a look, go to:
    www.bookcharmsmaine.com

I can make them in all kinds of papers - with a thank you note or used with escort cards - whatever you have in mind.

Thanks for taking a look and let me know if you're interested.

I love the idea, especially given your location. We actually did wine stoppers for my friend's bridal shower - we used favorwarehouse.com and they were really reasonable.

    Edit: spelling.

wine stoppers are a great idea to match your venue. just take all of your guests into consideration. many of my friends drink wine, but many do not (including me) realistically you cannot find a favor that pleases every one perfectly. just think of how many guests drink wine. will u be giving every guest a stopper, or one for every couple? (idk if guests would want 2 of the same stoppers) maybe consider having 2 different favors- the stoppers and the charms. that way if every guest gets a favor- they get a set. and the charms are good to have for when company comes that does drink wine, even if the host does not. or diy tile coasters that match the stoppers that gives more use to non wine drinkers, and (as good or tacky as this may sound) is a cute gift that can be regifted to a wine drinker who will love it. (someone who was not at the wedding that the guest knows like the guests co worker, or neighbor, exct...).

I just recently got married and for my favors I had tile chalkboard coasters which i think would also fit into your wine theme. I ordered them off etsy a set of 100 (I had a custom order) for less than 1 each. The more you order the lower they cost per tile. They doubled as my name cards / place holders. I had one at each place setting at every table and wrote their name on the coaster with chalk for there name cards at dinner so they would know where to sit. Then when they were done they got to take their coaster/ name card home with them as their favor. Since most family had 4 people in attendance they ended up with four chalkboard coasters which to me is a pretty cool favor since everyone can use coaster and you can write on them how fun is that! you can search chalkboard tile coasters on etsy to see what i'm talking about! I got so many compliments too!

It's because she posted the same thing in a new thread, so she's a vendor trying to get her product out there.  That's what I'm assuming anyways, I could be wrong.

I am not a vendor I just loved my favors so i posted it and im new and couldnt get the 2nd thread deleted . and the report did not follow through since I did not list a specific etsy shop and there are over 200 people on etsy that sell coasters there is no way possible if i was a vendor that everyone could pick out a shop i sold in since their are literally over 200, I would be wasting my time big time only to proabbly bring other etsy sellers business, but I am a huge fan of etsy and encourage anyone who is having a wedding to check out ALL wedding stuff on etsy its a great way to make your wedding unique!

No problem, it's an honest mistake.  Pretty much every vendor that tries to post only has 1 or 2 posts, because they make a screen name to try and promote their items.  I'm sure she saw you're new and talking about stuff from etsy, and thought you were a vendor.  I've looked at tons of stuff on etsy, it's a great website!
