Cake Balls--How Long Fresh?

Help!!

So I really, really want to make cake balls for my guest favor. Check out www.bakerella.com if you don't know what they are.

BUT, how long will these stay fresh for?
Can I store in a cool dry spot?
OR
Do they need to be kept in the freezer?
How long ahead do I need to make them and they will still taste good?

I want to make these myself and I think these will look like a "fancy" treat. But I don't want to make these just the week before or week of. Too much other stuff will be going on....if I can't make & store ahead, then I will just do M&M's (our initials are M&M).

Experienced bakers....chefs....tell me what you think!

I have made these for bake sales. I usually made them a few days a head of time. But you can make them up to a month before. Just put them into a container, like an ice cream bucket. Then the day before your wedding put them in refrigerator to thaw, less condensation this way.
