I need an alternative to bubbles!!!

So my future mother in-law and her best friend like to do everything together.  So when her best friend had personalized M&Ms and bubble tubes at her son's wedding, my mother-in-law decided she would do them for ours as well. This would be great, except I decided that I wanted something different than bubbles a long time ago.  I wanted sparklers, but the venue does not allow them.  Does anyone have any ideas for a unique send-off favor that my mother-in-law could contribute to the wedding?

Be sure to check with your venue first.  They may well have restrictions about what can and can't be thrown.

I vote for clapping and cheering.  It's free, eco-friendly, easy, and not lame.
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146

Feathers. I went to a wedding where each guest was given a little bag of feathers to throw. They were cool looking, mostly black and green colors.

By the way, I went to a wedding with sparklers and it was kind of a disaster. Half the people lit them too early and half the people lit them too late because it was windy.

We did the cheering, and it worked out awesome! Our video was really neat with everyone cheering.

What do y'all think about paper or balsa wood airplanes?  My fiance is going to be a pilot in the Marine Corps.  If I did paper, the guests could make the planes themselves during the reception.  The balsa would have a better shot at flying though.

What about streamers?  I'm thinking of doing them...on TK they have 10 ft. long pop out streamers that stay attached so there's no cleanup!  Feathers in your colors does sound like a good idea too!

    Dawn612,

My best friend got these eco friendly poppers for her wedding as an alternative to bubbles and they are a unique way to send you off!

Congrats and hope you find what you're looking for! :)

We threw personalized mini beach balls at my sister's wedding, (it was a real "hit") that's what we're doing for mine also even though it's a fall wedding I'm just getting mini beach balls with my wedding colors so they match the theme. You can find them at -really- good prices online. Just get your names and the date on them.
