Petals?

Where and what kind of rose petals did you use?

I bought a bunch of silk petals from favorfrenzy.com because it was a good deal. They arrived today and they do not look good. They look like cloth, threads hanging off each one. :-(

It might take a while, a long while. But try holding a lighter up to the edges... not all the way touching the fabric. Just close enough for the edges to melt and close off.

I got mine at the Dollar Tree. Yeah they look fake (but I didn't notice any fraying edges), but they'll only be dropped on the aisle and I figure most people won't be close enough to even tell.

I got really nice silk ones for my aisle at efavormart.com.  I got fresh ones (for the cake table and toss) at freshrosepetals.com.

What do you plan to use the petals for? If it is for your aisle/flower girl, I would stick with the fabric ones for two reasons: your venue may have rules about what can be dropped (many churches and venues do not allow fresh petals); your flower girl/girls may or may not actually sprinkle them depending on their age.

If you are using them for your reception tables an you aren't happy with the fabric ones you have, try looking at Michael's or another craft store. I m personally a fresh flower person, so I personally would go with fresh petals. There are several online sites that can give you a good price including Sam's Club and more.

I used freeze-dried petals and after you stick them in the bathroom with you that morning and let the steam hydrate them, they look and smell just like they were fresh off the rose bush!  www.flyboynaturals.com has tons of colors!!!
