Boutonnieres?

I am thinking of making my own to save some money, has anybody done this? Any tips, hints, or opinions are welcome!

I don't know if you'll be using artificial flowers, but I just completed my FSIL's bout today and for the first time making one, it was much easier than I anticipated.  You will want to prepare in advance though, by purchasing fine wire (I used 26 guage wire), floral tape, and wire cutters (by the way, each of these items can be found at your local Dollar Tree).  I began by cutting a 6 inch piece of wire and twisting it in half.  I then covered it with floral tape and set aside momentarily while I removed the flower head from it's original stem.  Next place the flower head on the stem you just wrapped.  You may want to secure the head by again wrapping it to its new stem.  I just did this with all the leaves and fillers, then arranged it how I wanted it and wrapped all the stems together with the floral tape.  I may still add ribbon later if my daughter decides she wants it, but here's how it looks for now:

I plan on doing mine as well and I practiced with real and silk. I guess it depends how fancy you want to get with them. It looked at videos on youtube and it took me 5 minutes max to make one.

They are very difficult. I used the fake feel real roses from hobby lobby than green floral tape to make the leaf and the flower nice and tight. Then wrapped it with my blue ribbon and used a little bit of the green floral tape to hold the ribbon. Then made a good sided bow right under the flower.
    Wish you luck
