Flowers

Fake vs. real

Price difference? I'm oing everything myself and was thinking of doing the tall centerpieces fake so that I could do them ahead of time, then the small centerpieces will be real. Also the flowers outside (It'll be hot). What do you guys think? Will people be able to tell that some are fake? Also my bouquet is real. Also thinking I should do the ceremony alter flowers fake... no one besides us is even going to be clse to them. Anyone used fake and regretted it?  What do Ya'll think? Thanks for your help:)

I am wondering the same thing! I have hired a florist to do the bouquets and boutineers but I was thinking on buying single fakegerber daisies to put in glass vases for the centrepieces. I was thinking I could have them put together then instead of putting in real single flowers on the wedding day. I am going to check with my florist to see how much individual flowers will be as opposed to fake

If you are doing everything yourself, the more you can do in advance, the better.  So in that regards, fake flowers are fine.  If you use good quality fakes, the price will be about the same as fresh flowers.

Most people can tell the difference between fake and real flowers, but not many people will notice, or even care.  For DIY, fake centerpieces will be more practical for you, and will be fine.

I would not mix fake and real flowers on the tables.  The extra trouble you'd have to go through at the last minute for the fresh flowers would be wasted if the other half of the flowers are fake.

If you are going to use real flowers for the ones that will be worn, like the WP flowers.  they can be made the day before if you have a place to keep them cool.

I would rather see a non-floral centerpiece than fake flowers.

I am using fake for everything and am loving how it is turning out!  I am getting them done months in advance, saving hundreds of dollars, and getting the full variety/colors that I wanted.  When I first told people I was using fake flowers they were less than enthusiastic but I am finishing the bouquets right now and they are better than I could have dreamed.  IMO fake flowers are far less stressful and so much fun.  My mom used fake and it was amazing to be able to see her bouquet. : )

Do you have any pictures? This is my idea. The big centepieces fake (hydrangeas) then the small ones, which only have 1 hydrangea will be real. It wont be too difficult to do those at all. Then the boquets are real and the florist that lives nextdoor to my house is doing them ( so that's easy too).

I am planning on buying fresh flowers in bluk and we were going to make our bouquets the day before as a fun bonding time with my girls. I am having an outdoor wedding and I want real flowers but going for more of the wildflower look, plus I am a very creative DIY bride and feel we can do it. I am looking for good but cheap fake flowers for my centerpieces and for some other decorations. I am thinking about using some big beautiful hanging baskets for my outdoor reception as well. I think mixing is okay because it depends what you are going for. I hope I am not making a bad decision on this - I have a 300+ wedding and 9 bridesmaids so I also thought I would save quite a bit of money going this route.

Have you any of you tried preserved flowers? I've been researching them but I'm not really sure how they look or how fragile.
