Flowers vs. No Flowers

Hi,

I'm getting married next September in Melbourne, Au. and I have decided to go flower free for my wedding, as in I am not paying for any flowers for the wedding. This is mainly becuase I feel no real use for them but I am also getting married in a a nursery. My bouquet is made of all brooches and jeweled pins that I am making into a bouquet and my bridesmaids are carrying cluitches. Our reception center pieces are going to be books and globes and cameras, but no flowers. My mother is fighting me on this but I feel sense it is an outdoor wedding and reception, where there is a lot of green (I mean a nursery and a farm) there is no point in paying for flowers, and I'm not big on them. I just needed to know what you ladies thought about weddings with on floral arrangements.

My friend had a flowerless wedding (outdoors as well) and I didn't miss any floral arrangements.  It sounds like your bouquets and centerpieces will look great.

My cousin was married two years ago and she had no flowers at all. She made a bouquet out of jewels for her and her BM's. She was married in a church which didn't need much decor. Her centerpieces were big champagne glasses with floating candles inside. I personally love the look of flowers, but even thou she had none it was still beautiful. Like jagore mentioned at the end of the night I didn't miss them. I say do what you wanna do! GL!
