Wild flowers??

My mother seems to think using wild flowers is not "proper" for a wedding. My fiance and I both love tiger lilies, and I think using those along with daisys or black-eyed susan's would be perfect for us. What do you think?

I think it's just fine- I wouldn't really call them wildflowers, though I suppose they are! Be careful with the lillies- make sure if you DIY it you cut the pollen stems- that stuff STAINS!

I love the idea of wildflowers!! :) If you search on theknot for wildflower bouquets, you can find a whole bunch of ideas. Maybe if your mom sees the finished product she will change her mind. And I agree you need to be careful with lilies! They are VERY poisonous to cats!! Make sure anyone who will be holding the flowers doesn't have cats, or makes sure they don't get any pollen on them...my friend's kitten died from sniffing a little of the pollen. :(

Tiger lilies aren't really appropriate for bouquets or centerpieces because they a variety of day lily and die within a day. I would try orange Asiatic lilies that have a similar look, but more longevity. I think they'd look great with daisies or black-eyed susans and some greenery (maybe bupleurum, which has a more wild flower look to it).

Oh! I didn't know that at all, thank you so much! I'm sure a florist would have told us that, but thanks anyway :)
