Flowers color advice

So my fiance and I are looking at getting married in either April or September 2013 (yes I know its kinda far off). My wedding colors are a light cream and a warm medium gold with copper accents, which I think will work for either month.

My problem is flowers. All the bouquets I have fallen in love with are various sunset-ish hues: reds, oranges, yellows, golds, peaches, etc. My mom doesn't think that they will do / be ok for an outdoor spring wedding. I'm curious about what y'all think on that subject. I detest pastel colors and would rather have my bright pretty colors instead.

So... bright colors a yes or no for an outdoors April wedding?

Oh, and please don't nag me about planning this far ahead. I have been buying stuff for my wedding since I got engaged about a year ago. My FI and I planned out our wedding in one night and in the year we've been engaged, we've only come to love our plan even more.

As for why the flowers are coming up this early, we're planning on doing silk flowers (less to worry about IMO). There also happens to be a local woman who is selling the stock from her two florist shops this Saturday and it will basically be about $2-3 for a grocery bag full of flowers. As a budget bride this deal is music to my ears.

i think since your colors are so muted why not go for the red yellow orange bouquets?  It would really make the bouquets pop!

That's what I was thinking. Plus with the flowers being so cheap I may be able to pick up some to do decorating with so the whole thing doesn't look as muted.

I originally picked those colors because they're so easy to add accents to and  because I really wanted to play up the gorgeous lake and greenery around the venue. Everything is pretty much open - there's a covered bridge leading to the open chapel and the reception is in a nearby pavilion/picnic shelter. So my decorations are either going to be hanging or wrapped around the zillions of poles.

Definitely go with what you love.  There is no set rule that weddign flowers have to be pale or pastel!

i love your colors! i say go for it!

on another note, i understand the comments about being early. im getting married next year but started planning last year when i got engaged and all i hear is "wow youre early" im like yes i am because i want to get things done and taken care of so theres no last minute rushing. plus were getting married on a holiday so i didnt want to deal with any of those delays. youd think vendors would be happy about it because they dont have to rush. just keep doing what you want to do and tell everyone to buzz off lol

So I hit the garage sale and got tons of pretty bright flowers!

I ended up getting 70 yellow carnations

Forty each of the next two:
    Mini peach carnations

    Red carnations

    Fifteen yellow gerber daisies

Fifteen of these small white flower bushes

Also got some various mixed stems and a huge pile of greenery. A friend at work just gave me some orange mini dahlias as well.

Total cost? $45 for almost 200 stems/bushes and greenery. *happy dances*
