September 2011 Purple Flowers

Hi all!  New to posting here...
I am looking for suggestions on flowers that are in season (and inexpensive) for a September wedding in shades of purple for bridesmaids and white for me.
So far I've been looking at dahlias, moon carnations, and hydrangeas... any thoughts on these or other suggestions would be appreciated!  Thanks Smile

    There are plenty of purple flowers available year round.  In the fall there are mums, carnations, asters, hydrangeas, stock, alstromerias, orchids, and roses, just to name a few.

    Lisianthus, purple calla lilies, Purple stock, purple statice, purple alstromeria, mums, orchids, purple gladiolus, purple aster, hydrangea...

    Saw this one at the florist but I don't remember the name:

    Purple asters are the birth flower of September, so that would be a safe choice - ask a local florist what is available in late summer/early fall so you can get an idea of what is available and within your budget.
