Flowers

Costco, sams,online flowers etc.

Has anyone had any experience ordering bulk flowers online?

Years ago, After a housefire as a teenager, I lived with a family friend who freelanced as a florist so I have been in the wholesale flower market downtown many times. I know what "raw" flowers look like, know how to prep and rehydrate them, and I know how to care for them.... but there is a big difference between choosing flower bunches from buckets in a giant cooler and ordering them online, sight unseen.

Has anyone had any experience with any of the online wholesale flower markets or with one of the big box markets like Costco or Sams?  I have plenty of family members who offered to let me use their memberships to place the order if I want.   I just wonder if these online sources are as nice as my local wholesale market

(No, my mentor stopped doing floral work about 10 years ago so we don't have access to the downtown market anymore. *sob*)

A girl on my local used Sam's for roses and they were great and she was very happy with them.

not a huge fan of Sams club stuff...Costco is a little better but I don't see any great savings and the quality is not always the best....but if you want mostly roses you would probably be safe there....
but I have been happy with The growers Box and the flfiftyflowers online  stores.  I am a florist and sometimes use them if I need a lot of something for an out of town event... they are higher quality and have always come in nice and fresh... a bit more $ but worth it i think...
Good luck and have a great wedding!~

i have herd horrible thigns about fiffty flowers. The bride who diyed hers said she could use less than half of her flowers from fifty flowers and had to go to the grocery store/walmart  and buy all the roses she could from them.

She didn't document the bad ones good enough and couldnt get any money back......

but that wasnt my experience so im not sure

My friend used a ton of hydrangeas from sam's and they were beatiful

I have a personal great review of Costco's roses. Ordered 100 for my Mom's birthday last January, and from Ecuador to her door was 3 days. Lasted between 5-7 days.

Can't comment on the other flowers they sell, but many of their bulk flowers and wedding packages have testimonials.

    Good luck.

Try Bunches Direct if you're looking for beautiful flowers and great prices. They are a bit newer so you can't find as many reviews on them, but I have had good experiences. Good luck:) www.bunchesdirect.com

I would recommend American Floral Distributors.
I would NOT recommend Bunches Direct. I ordered 50 hydrangaes, 50 roses, hypericum berries, and a boutineer. Online the picture shows normal size hydrangaes, but when I received mine they were mini hydrangaes. I only received half of my roses and the roses I received were tiny and sick looking. The berries were the only thing that was right. The boutineer was destroyed in shipping. We had to make our own. I attempted to contact the company multiple times through email, live chat, and phone and never received any feedback until 2 weeks later. I was charged $40 in shipping when the actual shipping cost was only $20 because they used the cheapest shipping with 1-5 business days instead of next day delivery. I did not receive my flowers until 10:30pm on Friday. I was scheduled to receive them the next day, but luckly FedEx is a better business model and their supervisor got the flowers to me at 10:30 at night since we were leaving the next day. When I finally got to talk to a supervisor with Bunches Direct he said he couldn't do anything for me. I also ordered flowers from American Floral Distributors and everything was perfect from them. I had them on time from FedEx next day delivery at 2pm.
