CP Ideas and cost? DIY or get a florist

Hey ladies I found these nice center pieces I wanted to use I am going for an old garden type look. I am a bride on a budget and just wondering if anyone has tried something like this? I was thinking of DIY but im worried it might be too difficult I want the tree with the crystals along with the flowers from the second picture and the green moss looking stuff?? from the third one all in one center piece. Would love to get some feedback Thanks!!

I am actually doing several trees like that for my wedding DIY. Let me first recommend the website I am getting many of my supplies from, www.save-on-crafts.com. From my experiences with them I have nothing but praises! You can get everything from tree limbs to the crystals to drape onto them. I believe you can also get the green mossy stuff in the picture you posted and there are some silk flowers on there but they have more dried flowers than silks. Their prices can't be beat! I hunted and hunted and couldn't find anything better!

As far as difficulty, you need to start in advance. I volunteered to cut tree limbs and this funny bush thing for my elderly neighbor and then saved the branches in the appropriate size and shape I wanted. I let them dry out in my back yard then painted them gold (because it's my color, you could paint them whatever you wanted, even brown if you prefer the natural look). From there I put my branch in a vase and secured it. I've only done a sample one but I just draped my garland of "crystals" on it and it looks great! There's no reason you couldn't put flower arrangements around them at the base. I would make the vases and arrangements in advance. You would need to wait until you're setting the centerpieces up to hang the garlands.
I can't speak much to the idea of the mossy stuff. All I can say is put it together and play with it until you get a look you like.

Something you should consider is lighting your trees from below; like in the vase. It is a nice alternative to candles and creates a romantic light.

    Good luck!! : )
