XP: Oriental Lilies - toxic or no?

We're DIY bouquets and pomanders and I was considering using leftover flowers to garnish the cake and/or cake table.  We're planning roses, carnations, alstromeria, and sorbonne oriental lilies.  I know that roses & carnations are fine, and that alstromeria are toxic, but I can't find anything about the Oriental Lilies.  My google-fu is failing me as its excluded from every edible vs. non-edible list I've found thusfar and the blogs I've seen have conflicting results.  I've found several species of lilies that are edible as well as those that are toxic but nothing about these hybrids.  I know that a lot of oriental hybrids are toxic specifically to cats but I haven't seen anything re: humans.

  • the lily bulbs are toxic to animals and humans.......unless you plan on eating these flowers, just wah them off under water and let them dry.....this is to wash the fumigation off of them.........use them on your cake.....no one will get sick....really......don't believer all the crap you "hear" from a friend of a friend.....
