Questions to ask Florist

I have my first appointment with my florist next weekend.  I was told to bring pictures of bouquets and centerpieces that I like with me.

What kind of questions do I need to ask when I'm there?

Anything else that I should bring with me?  Or research before I meet with him?

My wedding is July 2012 and I want purple and white flowers.

I brought my pics and also a color swatch of my BM dresses.

    - Make sure you ask about delivery/set-up/take down fees--this was a surprise to me when I saw it on my first quote.
    - Ask how long you will have to revise your order and make changes (usually until a couple of weeks before the wedding)
    - What time will they arrive on the day of?  When will they return to pick up?
    - Make sure the flowers you are requesting are in season and if not, what are the alternatives (At my first visit the florist never told me peonies wouldn't be in season but instead just quoted me a very high price for them.)

Since I was interviewing reputable florists with good reviews, I just wanted the person who seemed to understand my vision the most and who I clicked with.

Ditto Steph.  My flowers are really expensive, but I click so well with my florist and she really seems to get what I want that I feel like it is worth it.

Make sure you agree on substitution flowers in case for some reason your first choice will not happen - and that they are written into the contract.

If you need to rent items (such as candles, etc), ask if the florist has these items available for rent and how much it will cost.  Also ask what the general price of a bridal bouquet/bridesmaid's bouquet is (if you're still concerned with cost).  Another item to ask about is delivery.  Will the florist deliver to more than one location (ceremony and reception) if need be?
