I met with a potential florist the first week of August, a friend of a friend who recently closed her floral shop due to a death in the family (it was a family business and she couldn't run the whole shop by herself). She still does events occasionally out of her home, but doesn't run the shop anymore. She showed me a demo bouquet and quoted me an amazing discount due to the personal connection and everything sounded great. I called her a couple of days later to confirm that we would use her services and set up an appointment to sign a contract and give her a deposit.
It's been two months now and I haven't heard a word from her. I was never able to set up an appointment to review anything or give her any money (I guess that's a small blessing if it really doesn't work out with her). I've emailed her a couple of times and left a couple of messages over the last few weeks, and nothing. I'm really not sure what to do, because I really loved her, her work, and her price. She said she was available for our date and quoted me the price, so I assumed she could do both. I finally left her a message on Friday and asked her to please call me and let me know if she was no longer available or could no longer do it for that price, so that I know if I need to move on.
I'm think I've done everything I can at this point, but I'm really getting worried. We are less than 3 months from our wedding date and really can't afford most florists in the area. At this point, if things don't work with her, I'm going to end up doing it myself with any of my wedding party or family willing to help out the day before the wedding. It will be cheaper (I'd priced thinks for DIY before I found this woman) but I'd been hoping to avoid the stress so close to the wedding.
Any helpful advice or suggestions?
