Flowers

What types of flowers to use

Hi, I'm looking to make centerpieces like these

What types of flowers should I be looking for? I am looking for purple flowers if that makes a difference. I know orchids would be a good bet but anything else?

TIA!

  • You could use calla lilies, roses. I've also seen tulips, although you have to make sure you remove the pollen before hand so it doesn't cloud up the water. I recently saw a picture with submerged baby's breath that looked cool. I think you can submerge almost any flower as long as the petals aren't too delicate and there isn't too much pollen.

  • Callas and tulips also work.  Look for flowers with graphic lines that are not known for sucking up water.
  • I dont think we're going to submerge the flowers - so would that open it up to pretty much any flower?

Yes.   Although I like the submerged flowers.
