How many rose petals? Help?!

I am getting married at the Riverview in Simsbury CT. It wil be outdoors and to save money I will be buying silk rose petals on ebay. I would like the floor  covered lighty to medium in terms of denisty. How many rose petals do I need? 1000, 5000 etc

How long is your aisle?  If you want a somewhat accurate count what you can do is find out the length and width of your aisle then buy silk rose petals at a craft store and tape out a portion of the aisle (width of aisle by 1 yard in length).  Take the petals you bought and cover the portion to the density you like.  Then count all the petals.  From there you can do some quick math to figure out how many petals you will need and order from there.

I agree with PP but would add that I'm doing petals on either side of the aisle and have about 3,000 for my coverage.
