Boutonniere and Corsage Alternatives?

I was hoping some one could give me advice on some alternatives on boutonniere and corsages..

    We had our moms carry nosegay bouquets instead of corsages.  They really liked them.


    I really wanted the guys to wear colored or striped pocket squares instead of boutonnieres.  But my husband is very traditional and wanted to wear one.

    Our guys had ties and pocket squares. I had bead bouts for them, but I tried them on my brother the morning of the wedding and decided it looked too cluttered. So we put the beads in the girls' hair instead.

    At first my wife wanted to go the traditional route, but I really wasn't in love with the traditional boutonnieres that we saw.  I went the DIY route, 
    Now full time husband, part time fly fisher.
