Flowers

what flowers are available?

I'm getting married September 3 this year in Maine. It's an outdoor wedding. Two of our neighbors have awesomely offered to let us come and pick flowers from their vast gardens to use in the wedding. That being said, neither can tell us what will be blooming in their gardens at that time. Does anyone have any idea what kinds of flowers are generally in bloom at that time? They think their hydrangeas will be ready, but I want to make sure I order enough flowers from our florist to supplement what they're giving us.

Huh, that seems weird that they are unsure of what will be growing in their gardens.  Didn't they have to plant their gardens to get the flowers to bloom?

I would do a little research (google is your friend) about what type of flowers bloom in Maine during the end of August and beginning of September.  This may have to be a wait and see thing and you will need to be flexible with what is available.

You should have hydrangea and roses in bloom, which are lovely together. Hydrangea are particularly good because of the size- you don't need many to make it a really full bouquet.
